## How Crystallize helps

The usual complaint about commerce platforms is that the interesting work goes into fighting the platform's assumptions — a product model that nearly fits, a plugin system that owns the runtime, an upgrade cycle that has to be planned around.

Crystallize's answer is to be a service rather than a framework. You define shapes and components that match what you actually sell; the GraphQL schema is generated from that, so queries read in your own vocabulary. There is no application server of ours running your code, and nothing to upgrade.
