## Summary

Crystallize does not ship a storefront, which means your frontend framework is a free choice rather than a platform constraint. There are open-source starters for Next.js, Remix, Astro, Svelte, React, Vue, Nuxt and TanStack, all talking to the same GraphQL API, so the decision is about your team's preferences rather than what the commerce backend supports.

## What this page is about

- **Primary topic:** Frontend frameworks with Crystallize
- **Product category:** Frontend integration / storefront development
- **Best for:** Frontend teams who already have a framework preference and want a commerce backend that does not argue with it.
- **Main use cases:** Building custom storefronts, choosing a framework for a commerce project, starting from an open-source boilerplate, server rendering and static generation for commerce, integrating an existing frontend with a commerce backend.
- **Related platform capabilities:** GraphQL API, Headless eCommerce, Product Information Management, AI Commerce

## Key takeaways

- No storefront is bundled, so no framework is privileged and none is locked out.
- Open-source starters exist for the major frameworks, all against the same API.
- The API is a service, not an SDK, so nothing is reachable only through a client library.
- Data comes from a global CDN, which is what makes fast storefronts achievable in any framework.
- Server rendering, static generation and client-side fetching are all workable — the choice is yours.

## How Crystallize helps

Most commerce platforms have an opinion about your frontend, whether through a templating system or an SDK that is genuinely supported in one framework and nominally supported everywhere else. Crystallize has no storefront at all, which turns the framework question back into an engineering decision.

What the platform provides is the data layer: a GraphQL API served from a global CDN, with responsive images and streamable video handled automatically. Whether the storefront renders on the server, at build time or in the browser is a decision the frontend team makes on the merits.

The starters exist to remove setup work, not to constrain architecture — each is a normal application in that framework, not a shell around a proprietary runtime.

## When to use this

Use these integrations when you need to:

- Choose a frontend framework for a commerce project without the backend narrowing the options.
- Start from a working storefront rather than an empty repository.
- Connect an existing frontend to a commerce and product data backend.
- Build a storefront that server-renders or statically generates for performance and SEO.
- Serve several frontends — a web storefront, an app, a campaign site — from one catalogue.

## Common workflows

### Pick a framework

Choose on your team's strengths and the project's rendering needs. Every framework here talks to the same API with the same capabilities.

### Scaffold from a starter

Use the CLI to generate a storefront wired to your tenant, then develop it as a normal application in that framework.

### Query what the page needs

Fetch exactly the data a page renders in one GraphQL request, rather than assembling several REST calls.

### Deploy anywhere

The storefront is your application, deployed on your platform of choice. Crystallize serves the data.
