Bookable Commerce, built into Crystallize
Sell time and access Like any other product
Mark a product as bookable and it sells again every day it’s free. Let shoppers buy the lens and rent the camera body for the weekend in the same cart, on one order.

The idea in one picture
Not all products are sold once Some are booked, again and again
A lens sells once and ships. A camera body can be rented for the weekend, a lighting technician hired for the shoot, and both come back to be booked again. Bookable Commerce lets your team run the whole catalogue as one, so a bookable resource has the same content, prices and campaigns as any other product. The shopper never notices the difference.

Turn on booking
Any product Can be made bookable
Same product, same editor, same catalogue. Turning on booking adds three things to it: what can be booked, the rules, and a calendar.
- What can be booked. Three camera bodies, each one a unit with its own serial number. Or the studio: one room, six seats.
- The rules. How long a weekend is held while the shopper decides, how late they can cancel, and the day after a rental blocked for the sensor check. Set once, on the product.
- The calendar. Each camera body keeps its own. A booking fills a weekend, a hold that expires gives it back, and what the storefront shows is always what is free right now.
Set the rules once
Four simple rules For every booking
Set once in your Product Universe, on one product or shared across many. Every booking is checked against them.
- The hold. A reserved weekend cannot be taken by anyone else until the hold you set runs out. No double bookings, no one checking a spreadsheet.
- The cancellation window. Inside the window you set, a cancellation frees the weekend for the next booking. Outside it, the booking stands.
- The turnaround. The time you block around a rental is never sold. The day for the sensor check: the calendar knows.
- How far ahead. The calendar opens exactly when you say. Nobody books next summer today.

Live availability
Always live On every channel
Availability is a live answer, not a nightly export. Whoever asks, and wherever they ask, they see what is free right now.
- One calendar, every channel. Your webshop, the app or the counter read the same calendar, so a weekend sold in one is gone in all of them.
- Held the moment it is picked. The hold starts at the click, not at checkout. Two shoppers cannot end up with the same camera body.
- Their AI assistant sees it too. An assistant asking for a free weekend gets the same live answer as the storefront. Availability locked in a calendar widget is invisible to it.
Confirmed at checkout
One checkout For products and bookings
Running bookings usually means a separate tool, with its own checkout and its own catalogue. The shopper ends up with two receipts from two names. Here the booking is a line on the order, next to the product.
- B2B and B2C run the same. A shopper pays by card. A production company confirms with an approved quote. Both close the booking the same way, against the same calendar.
- One order, one receipt. The weekend rental and the lens: one order, one receipt, one line in the shopper’s history.
- Something at stake. A weekend with a paid order behind it is a weekend that gets collected. A hold with nothing behind it is the reservation nobody shows up for.
What you can sell with it
By the day
Equipment and vehicle rental
Trailers, tools, bikes, boats, cameras. Rent the trailer for the weekend and sell the straps and the towbar in the same cart. Stock per depot, return date in the rules.
By the seat
Classes and experiences
Workshops, courses, tastings, track days. Twelve seats on the March cohort, the manual and the exam in the same cart.
By the appointment
Services and appointments
Fittings, installations, repairs, consultations. Sell the winter tyres and book the fitting. Sell the sofa and book the crew.
By the hour
Sports and facilities
Courts, lanes, studios, simulators. Book the court for an hour and sell the balls with it. One room, or one of six.
By the table
Hospitality
Tables, rooms, seatings, private chefs, with the turnaround between them. This one you can try live.
On a quote
Fleet and field service
The excavator with its operator, vans by plate, a technician’s day next to the part being fitted. Confirmed on a quote, invoiced on account.

Why it matters
Sold the same in every channel
Webshop, app, marketplace, a sales rep’s phone: one calendar, one cart, one price.
Bookable by AI agents too
The same calendar and the same cart your storefront uses are open to an assistant. It can find a free slot, hold it and book it, the way a shopper would.
No second vendor, no second invoice, less admin
The booking tool is the commerce platform. Nothing to license, integrate or reconcile, and one order to look at when the shopper calls.
No double bookings
Availability is live, the hold starts at the click, and a confirmed booking is final.
Same for B2B and B2C
Card or approved quote, private customer or account: one checkout.
More per order
The booking leaves with the product next to it: the rental with the accessory, the service with the part it fits.

Questions
What is bookable commerce, and how is it different from traditional booking software?
Bookable Commerce lets you sell time and access, such as a rental, a class, a table or a technician’s day, as products in your Crystallize catalogue. Traditional booking software is a second system with its own catalogue, checkout and customer records, connected to your store by an integration. In Crystallize the booking is part of the commerce engine: a bookable product has the same content, prices and campaigns as everything else, goes in the same cart and lands on the same order.
Can I sell bookable services, rentals, and physical products together in one checkout?
Yes. A booking is a line in the cart next to any product, so the camera body rented for the weekend and the lens bought to keep go through one checkout and land on one order, with one receipt. It works the same for a card payment and for a B2B order confirmed on a quote.
How does Crystallize manage real-time availability and prevent double bookings?
Availability is a live answer from the Shop API, so the webshop, the app and the counter all see the same calendar. The moment a slot goes in the cart it is held, and nobody else can take it while the hold you set lasts. A booking that would overlap another one, including the buffer you keep around it, is refused. When the customer commits, by paying or on an approved quote, the booking is confirmed.
Can I customize booking rules, pricing, cancellations, and resource availability for different business models?
Yes. The rules are a booking policy you set once and share across products: how long a slot is held at checkout, how late a booking can be cancelled, the buffer kept free before and after each booking, and how far ahead people can book. Each bookable product is either a set of named units, like Room A or Van 3, or a capacity, like twelve seats in a class. Your team can block time for maintenance, staff or partners from the Reservations view. A bookable product is priced like any other product in Crystallize.
Can AI agents discover availability and make bookings through Crystallize?
Yes, through the same APIs your storefront uses. Reading availability, holding a slot and confirming a booking are all Shop API calls, so an agent or assistant you connect to your store gets the same live answer and the same hold as a shopper on the website. There is no second calendar for it to fall out of step with.
