What Is CrUX?

CrUX, short for the Chrome User Experience Report, is a public dataset provided by Google that aggregates user experience metrics from actual web users who have opted-in to sync their browsing history, have not set up a Sync passphrase, and have usage statistic reporting enabled. This report offers invaluable insights into the real-world performance of websites across the internet.

The CrUX dataset includes metrics on website speed, responsiveness, and visual stability, among others. These metrics help developers and site owners understand how their site performs across different devices and network conditions. Key metrics featured in the report, such as Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), are crucial for assessing a website's user experience quality.

One of CrUX's main advantages is its ability to provide real user measurement (RUM) data, as opposed to synthetic testing from lab environments.
