Checkout Funnel Insights

The Checkout Funnel Dashboard in Crystallize Insights provides real-time analytics of all shopping cart activity in your storefront. It helps you understand how customers move from browsing to purchasing, and where they drop off in the process.

You can view funnel activity live or analyze historical data for predefined time periods. Filtering by currency is also supported, making it easy to track performance across multiple markets.

The Checkout Funnel

The funnel tracks shopping carts as they progress through different stages:

  • Active Carts
Customers are browsing and adding products. The cart updates dynamically with every change, providing a live snapshot of interest and intent.
  • Placed Carts
When a customer is ready to proceed to payment, the cart is locked. This prevents further changes and represents a committed intent to purchase.
  • Ordered Carts
Once payment is successfully completed, the cart transitions into an official order.
  • Abandoned Carts
If a cart remains inactive for more than one hour (configurable per cart), it is marked as abandoned. These represent lost revenue opportunities and can help guide re-engagement strategies.

Together, these stages provide a complete view of the checkout funnel, making it easier to identify bottlenecks and optimize conversion.

Adjusting Time Period and Currency

  • Time Selector
Choose from predefined time ranges or switch to a real-time view, which continuously updates to reflect the last three hours of activity.
  • Currency Filter
If your tenant supports multiple currencies, you can either:
    • View combined funnel data across all currencies.
    • Filter by a specific currency to see localized performance.
When filtering by a single currency, additional insights such as potential gross revenue are displayed.

Activity List

The Activity List provides detailed information on individual carts, including:

  • Products currently in the cart.
  • Gross amount (pre-discount total).
  • Applied promotions.
  • Customer details.

Hovering over a product shows its name and SKU, making it easy to identify items at a glance.

This granular view helps support teams, marketers, and analysts understand customer behavior at the cart level.
