Product Variants

Product variants represent different versions of the same product, such as color, size, or bundle type. Variants are published together with the main product and can be edited in both Pretty View and Nerdy View.

Each variant includes system-defined attributes like images, videos, price variants, and stock per location. You can also add optional components at the variant level for details such as material, technical specs, or product-specific media.

Product variants in Pretty View

You can edit product variants in two places within Pretty View.

At the top of the product editing page, you’ll find variant cards. From these cards, you can add images, adjust default stock, and set a default price variant. You can also define the default variant from the three-dot menu on each card.

Clicking on a specific variant opens a detailed view where you can edit all variant properties and variant-level components under the variant story section.

Each product variant includes the following fixed properties:

  • Variant name
  • Images
  • Videos
  • SKU
  • Stock per location
  • Price per price variant
  • Attributes

Batch editing of Product Variants in Nerdy View

Nerdy view is designed for fast bulk editing of multiple product variants at the same time (when on product level). It gives you a spreadsheet-like interface where you can scan, filter, and update catalogue data more efficiently than editing product variants one by one.

Nerdy view lets you update product variants directly in the grid, much like working in a spreadsheet.

  • You can type values directly into cells or copy and paste data from tools like Google Sheets or Excel.
  • Any modified cell is highlighted in yellow until you save, so you can clearly see what’s changed.
  • Use CMD + Z (or CTRL + Z on Windows) to undo edits on the fly.
  • When you’re satisfied, hit save to apply all changes in bulk.
