Language
In Crystallize, every tenant has a default language that represents the main (or perhaps only) language in which your catalogue content will be created. Multiple languages must be set up if you intend to offer your catalogue in more than one language. Read more about configuring languages within the User Guide.
Once defined, languages create multiple “translations” of each product, document, and folder in your catalogue. The following fields are localized. In other words, you can store different values for each translation:
- Product, Document, and Folder name (and auto-generated path)
- Grid name
- Topic name and path
- Asset alt text and caption
- Product variant name
The following fields are not translatable. The same content/value will be stored for all translations:
- Product variant attributes, price variants, stock, SKU, price lists, and subscription plans
- Asset name
The content of components may or may not be localized, depending upon the localization settings they were given when the item’s shape was defined.
To assist with translating one language into another, Crystallize offers a free translation app that you can add to your Apps library.
