Tenant

In Crystallize, a tenant is a high-level instance under which product data and marketing content is organized. Some organizations use a single tenant to house all of their offerings, while others create multiple tenants depending on their specific needs.

Some examples of situations in which you may decide to use multiple tenants:

  • For different geographic regions.
  • For distinct brands or lines of business.
  • For different clients, if you’re an agency.
  • For separating production, staging, and development environments.

Each tenant has a name and an identifier. The identifier is unique, and cannot be changed. You can easily access your tenant in the Crystallize App by visiting https://app.crystallize.com/@your-tenant-identifier. Whenever you log in to the Crystallize App, you perform actions for one tenant at a time and switch between tenants as needed.

You can create as many tenants as you need and import data into them in many ways. Each tenant has its own catalogue where products, documents, folders, and assets are stored. Catalogue items and other tenant-specific content and settings can easily be moved between tenants using the Crystallize import/export SDK. You can also copy and override tenants for testing, backup, or other purposes.

Crystallize users can be invited to one or more tenants, and their roles and permissions can be tailored so that they’re able to access exactly what they need and no more.

As your Crystallize project grows, tracking tenant usage becomes important. When a project gets serious, it’ll be time to activate your tenant(s).

A tenant will be deleted automatically once all users of the tenant have left it, and the last user confirms the deletion.
